HOW TO GET THE CÉLINE LOOK AT HOME
The Parisian fashion brand provides a chic decorating strategy.
Make bold strokes
Mood books on every seat at the Spring 2014 runway show were filled with inspiration pictures of graffiti, specifically Brassaï’s photography of graffiti. Moody black and white images of street art in Paris translated into Celine’s brushstroke patterned textiles. The motif is one easily incorporated into a home, with art from the likes of James Nares and Franz Kline.
Balance your palette
You will never see a Céline look that doesn’t have a neutral color base. Although many of the looks incorporate bold colors, such as cobalt blue, emerald green, or canary yellow, they are balanced by neutrals like black, white, and beige. Keep your color scheme similarly balanced in your space. Too much color is just not Céline-chic.
Look for luxury
Being a luxury womenswear brand, every material used for Céline is of the highest quality. Fine wools, precious metals, and supple linens are main components in a Céline ensemble, and so should they be in your home. The simplest piece of furniture or décor is made special by a quality material.
