Yesterday, I went to my nutritionist after almost 2 weeks! I was so excited when she told me I’ve dropped 4 % of body fat, so from 26% (previously around 30%) now I am at 22%. I know I have a lot of work to do to get to my goals, but when you see results there is so much more motivation! In weight I’ve lost 1,7 pounds which is good, because I’ve gained some muscle as well! Long story short I am not here to give you my measurements but to tell you what I am doing and what is my motivation! Hoping to inspire you too!
First of all, I have to say that I am not writing this for any advertisement purposes of anything that I’ll mention on this post. I am just saying what I am actually doing and seeing results!
1. TLS by Mike Matthews!
TLS, as in Thinner Leaner Stronger was my life changing book! Bought it last summer (for 10£), read it on and off since then, not because it is not easily read and understood which it is. But, because I had dissertation going on, on that period and then I had moving back home after uni and finding a job and then changing jobs, you know the story! BUT now that I am happy with my life I have more life motivation, I have more training motivation and I eat healthy because I love it and not because I have to! I am not buying any ready Healthy Tesco meals anymore that state fake macros that I did believe, I am cooking for myself what I want and how I like it!
So I started reading TLS again one month ago, and actually following my lovely Mike’s recommendations and science! I mean he did all the work for us! Why not to listen to and trust him?
To be honest, I already did a lot of research on how our body works and how to train and how to eat. I mean it is all about macros, micros and fiber & vitamins but there is a way to enjoy the journey and no it is not rocket science!
If you want someone to give you motivation, to tell you how to eat based on YOU, how to train again based on YOUR body, and reply to every stupid-sounding question you have and a team to support you no matter how much work you have to do then read TLS or BLS (Bigger Leaner Stronger, if you are a guy) and start changing your life not only your body!
Well, obviously I am training now! 5 days a week for one hour per session. I’ve done different things over the years, I mean after reading TLS I do feel kinda stupid that I didn’t do what I am now doing earlier in my life! I am working out at my now favourite second home Kondylis Fitness Centre, close to my house and wonderful environment, with people that know how to help and when to jump in and be like “WOOOAH careful on those knees, or change your deadlift position!”
Hours of cardio? nope! Heavy weightlifting will make you bulky? Well if you want to invest in testosterone and drugs then yeah maybe! But no, free heavy weights won’t make you neither looking like a man or anywhere near bulky! Fat will !
Now talking about fat, you don’t have to cut your calorie intake to null to loose weight, actually that is the bigger mistake I actually did when I was on my first couple of years in uni after gaining all that weight! What I would recommend is to go measure your body fat percentage first to know what you are doing or if you are at a really low budget, go to muscleforlife.com and have a look on how body percentages kinda look!
Me? I am following a meal plan, I am not gonna tell you that I eat non stop, train and lose fat! I am not! I am actually following a meal plan, custom made for me by my wonderful nutritionist Zoe, who really understood how I want to eat and helped me by preparing a meal plan based on the macros I need to eat and she is there to motivate me, shake me on any bad days, congratulate me on days like yesterday that I did such a great job and well chit chat of course! I eat a lot of protein, I do eat carbs, I do eat my cheat meal or dessert once a week if I want but what’s the best thing is that I do like what I am eating, I don’t starve myself and I am feeling better!
That’s it for now, I know it’s long but it is nothing compared on how worth it it is to learn few things that I actually work and actually do them and see actual results! If you have any questions email me or comment below!
